Both catastrophic events (like war or assault) and seemingly ordinary events (like social rejection or family stress) can cause psychological trauma. Somatic therapies recognize that trauma literally reshapes the brain, and that trauma responses (fight, flight, freeze, and fawn) are held in the body, even if you logically know you are safe.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is one of the most sought-after methods of therapy today. The theory behind EMDR is that your eyes move rapidly while you are dreaming, which helps you with processing experiences. Similarly, in EMDR therapy, your therapist will instruct you to move your eyes in specific ways while you recount traumatic experiences. Rather than just talking about and interpreting your past, you will be reprogramming your brain, enabling your body to heal.

Somatic Experiencing Therapy acknowledges that our bodies are rich sources of information, which many of us tune out as we go about our busy lives. This therapy uses a bottom-up approach, meaning that you start by tuning into your bodily sensations and only later progress to talking about your thoughts and feelings.

Sensuality Coaching enables you to fully experience being alive. The aim is to break free from old patterns, become fully present in your body, and lean into all forms of pleasure. You will learn various techniques such as breathwork, tantric practices, and the Wheel of Consent.
