About Me

I chose to pursue my profession because I really like helping people. Friends and family always told me that I’m a good listener, so it was a natural fit for me to begin my clinical training in a hospital where I worked with patients and their loved ones in various units, including Emergency, ICU, oncology, mental health, and rehabilitation. I have been working in health care for twenty years now, and I’m proud of the role I can play as a therapist to help people heal in various ways--physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I am committed to continuing my professional education and enjoy pursuing various learning opportunities to help expand and develop my clinical knowledge and skills. I enjoy attending conferences and workshops, and I remain current with the scholarly health literature in my areas, including research articles and books. I even wrote my own book based on my own original qualitative research. My current book project is called Listening Into Being: Spiritual Resources for Reflective Practice in Health Care.

My vocation is to help my clients feel heard and understood. I am an active, empathic listener and draw on theoretical concepts to help me understand more fully what my clients tell me. I seek to engage and work together with my clients in creative ways to help improve the challenging situations they find themselves in.
